Find Your Ride at Six Flags America
Six Flags America is located in Largo, Maryland. The 100-acre amusement park is home to 17 world class roller coasters, including the highly anticipated “Justice League: Battle for Metropolis”. The park also boasts a wide variety of family rides, carnival games, and shops.
I spent the day at Six Flags America, and it was awesome! The tickets were inexpensive and they had a whole bunch of stuff to do there. I can’t wait to go back and check it out again. For thrill seekers and even those who are timid, Six Flags America has something for everyone!
Check out the Wild Life at The National Zoo
The National Zoo is located along the western edge of Prince George’s County, just 15 minutes from downtown Washington D.C. It was established in 1889 by an act of Congress and today houses over 150 different species. Originally it was a place for deer and other hoofed animals of the United States capital. Since then, it has expanded to include exhibits of all types.
The National Zoo is open year-round and features many special events throughout the year! Crowd favorites include the Giant Pandas, red pandas, and the North American river otters. There is even an IMAX Theater, which shows films throughout the day.
The MGM National Harbor
The National Harbor is a luxury shopping, dining, and entertainment district in Prince Georges. The harbor offers boat rides around the Potomac river for sight-seeing of the Washington D.C. skyline. There are over 90 different shops at the Harbor, including two IMAX theaters. The Harbor is also home to the MGM Resort, which opened in 2008.
Find Your Way at St. Mary’s College of Maryland
The St. Mary’s College of Maryland is a public liberal arts college located on the shore of the St. Mary’s River near the Chesapeake Bay. The college offers 30 bachelor degrees, including an interdisciplinary environmental program for those interested in the sciences. There are a wide variety of activities outside of the classroom, including 47 fraternity and sorority organizations. Feel free to check out one of their live performances in their performing arts center or a sports game.
